Working with glass is something that scares most of us by just reading about it. It’s a very delicate job that requires tons of attention and expertise. One small mistake can be a huge safety hazard, and cause quite large economical damage as well.

If you’ve ever seen a building that’s completely made out of the glass on the outside, you probably wondered how all of those panes were placed without anything going wrong. Well, that’s exactly what we’re here to talk about today, so make sure to read until the end if you are interested in learning more. Let’s take a look.

Using glazing robots

A glazing robot is probably the most helpful invention in the glass industry. For those of you who might not be very familiar with this term, a glazing robot is an easily maneuverable device that is able to carefully place glass panes wherever you need them. It has a sticky front end that attaches to any glass surface, and the controls are very easy to use, meaning you can try different variations and positions before finally placing the pane in its place. They might not be the cheapest things out there, but making a mistake and dropping the glass pane on the ground can cost a lot more. Safety Gloves

No matter what you work with, if it’s a physical job in which you’re using your hands as main instruments, safety gloves are a must. There’s always the danger of something dropping onto your hands and squashing your fingers, but that’s not the only concern when working with glass. As we all know, the first thing we get associated with when we think about broken glass are cuts, and cuts can sometimes be fatal. Make sure to purchase a pair of safety gloves and don’t think about it twice. They come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes you might have to “fiddle around” a bit until you find the perfect size for you.

Remember that if your gloves are not the correct size, it’s still a safety concern because the protection parts might not be in the right places due to your hand not fitting the glove correctly. Also, by using a glove that just doesn’t feel right on your hand, you will be performing much more at your workplace, especially if you need to use your hands in order to do something delicate, such as placing a glass pane on the right spot in order to fixate it.

Trolleys – Transportation

It’s not all about placing the glass panes or adjusting their position until you find the right angle. Transportation is a key role as well. You cannot really transport twenty large glass panes with your own hands, simply because they weigh a lot, and one small mistake such as tripping on something may result in a very serious injury and huge economic damage. A perfect example of a trolley that’s very helpful in this kind of a situation is the ST1300, which is a multi-purpose motorized trolley system that can carry up to 1300kg.
