Kurds say Syria Chemical Weapons Attack a False Flag

August 27, 2013. Kurdistan. (ONN) Chemical weapons were used in Syria this past week and in large enough quantities to be verified. But who used them – the Assad regime or the rebels? Russia says it was the US-backed rebels. The US says it was the Russian-backed government. Now, Kurdish leaders allied with the US suggest the West carried out the chemical attack in an effort to frame Assad and provide an excuse for war.

Make no mistake – the millions of persecuted Kurds in Iraq, Turkey and Syria are desperate for a nation of their own. And for more than a decade, the US has allowed the Kurdish people to carve out that nation from Iraq’s conquered territory. To join the Syrian and Turkish parts of Kurdistan to Iraq’s, the Kurds know they will continue to need the blessing of the US. That’s why it was so important yesterday when a leader of one of Kurdistan’s segmented regions accused the rebels’ backers of staging the recent chemical weapons attacks in Syria.

Accusations against the West

Just like with the JFK assassination, the death of Princess Diana, the Russian-Georgian War and a host of other examples, it seemed as if Western media outlets were reporting the chemical weapons attack in Syria last week before the bombs even hit the ground. Within minutes of the attack, already-prepared announcements were made by the governments of the US, UK, France and other nations insisting they had information assuring them that the Assad regime was responsible.

As reported by RT America just two days after the deadly chemical attack, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Aleksandr Lukashevich told the outlet they had documentation showing that someone had posted responses about the chemical attack a half day before the attack took place. RT even went so far as to post three YouTube videos it found showing victims of the August 21 chemical attack. The only problem, YouTube shows the videos were posted August 20. Granted, there is a seven-hour time difference between the US and Syria.

At the same time, Russia released official statements warning the US not to make the same mistakes it made in its foolhardy invasion of Iraq over similar circumstances. While the Russians ruled out any counter strike in defense of their Syrian ally, they did remind the West that an attack on Syria would be an international war crime. Also in that same moment, the Syrian military released footage of what it called a just-captured chemical weapons cache belonging to the US-backed rebels.

It’s probably safe to report that in the hours after the chemical attack, most of the world did not believe either side’s version of events. But two recent announcements seem to lend credence to the accusations against the US that it orchestrated the chemical weapons attack on the civilian population in an attempt to create justification for the American military to join the Syrian civil war on the side of al Qaeda and the rebels.

Kurdish leader speaks out

The leader of Syria’s largest Kurdish political party publically announced that it was his opinion that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government were not the ones responsible for last week’s deadly chemical weapons attack. He basically said that Assad would never “be so stupid” as to use WMDs so close to his capital and in the same location UN weapons inspectors are stationed.

As reported by Reuters yesterday, Saleh Muslim is the head of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party. While confirming he had no physical evidence, the Kurdish leader also insisted the Syrian President would not use chemical weapons at a moment when his forces had the upper hand and the rebels are in disarray and fighting against each other. Baring any Western intervention, the civil war in Syria is rapidly looking to be an Assad victory.

In an interview with Reuters, Saleh Muslim explained, “The regime in Syria…has chemical weapons, but they wouldn’t use them around Damascus, five kilometers from the (U.N.) committee which is investigating chemical weapons. Of course they are not so stupid as to do so.”

When asked who he thought might be behind Wednesday’s chemical weapons attack in Syria, the Kurdish leader wouldn’t give any specific names but said, “Some other sides who want to blame the Syrian regime, who want to show them as guilty and then see action.” Muslim then went on to criticize the US-led West’s hypocrisy on the subject of WMD attacks.

The Syrian Kurdish leader asked what the West would do if it turned out that the rebels were behind the gas attack on their own people in an attempt to blame the Assad regime and enlist international support behind their effort. “Everybody would forget it,” he answered his own question, “Who is the side who would be punished? Are they going to punish the Emir of Qatar or the King of Saudi Arabia, or Mr. Erdogan of Turkey?”

Leaks and whistleblowers implicate Obama administration

Jeremy Hammond, Bradley Manning, Barrett Brown, Edward Snowden – those pesky, meddling kids just keep exposing the lies, hypocrisy and alleged war crimes of the Bush and Obama administrations. With all those whistleblowers imprisoned by the US government, it’s been up to the next generation of patriotic leakers and whistleblowers to warn the American people.

Back in January when accusations of chemical weapon attacks first began circulating in Syria, the US-backed rebel forces attempted to blame the Assad regime. But videos posted online of their own rebel fighters instructing volunteers on how to use chemical weapons quickly ended the debate over who was actually using the WMDs.

Conveniently left out of the American press, it wasn’t only the rebel-made YouTube videos that connected the US to the use of chemical weapons in Syria. It was also the recently stolen and leaked documents showing that the US officially endorsed a plan to use WMDs on the Syrian people and then falsely blame the Assad regime for the attack.

The stolen documents

A number of independent media outlets are reminding their readers of the leaked January documents, including a report from Infowars yesterday and IntelliHub today. Both grassroots news sites detail the incident earlier this year in which a German hacker broke into the servers of Defense contractor Britam Defence. The internal corporate emails show a secret plan, endorsed by the Obama administration, to carry out the false flag chemical attack in Syria.

One email from the defense corporation’s sales director to the company’s founder eerily mirrors all the above accusations of a US-backed WMD attack and its use as a reason to go to war in Syria. It also shows that ‘chemical weapons’ were being discussed so much, they were given their own abbreviation ‘CW’ without the need to explain what it stood for.

While the above internal email from a Western defense contractor appears to implicate the governments of Qatar and the United States in war crimes and the planned use of chemical weapons against the civilian population of Syria, it certainly isn’t a smoking gun or a confession.

The fact is, with Western air forces arriving in Cypress, additional US warships being dispatched to the Syrian coast and the American media already reporting on the US entry into the Syrian civil war as if it’s a preordained event, the question of who used WMDs last week may be quickly overshadowed by America’s next war.
