Establishment sends veiled Warning to Hillary Clinton
By Mark Wachtler
February 13, 2015. Washington. (ONN) When Green Party 2012 Presidential nominee Jill Stein announced her exploratory committee for another run in 2016 last week, something happened that’s never happened before – a third party candidate received millions of dollars worth of media coverage, and for seemingly no reason. Stein didn’t even announce her candidacy and it was all compliments of the Green Party’s main enemy – Wall Street corporations and their properties like ABC News. What’s really going on?

The Green Party’s 2012 Presidential nominee, Dr. Jill Stein, broke the network black-out of opposition candidates one week ago when she held a press conference declaring that she had launched an exploratory committee for a 2016 Presidential bid. Stein’s well planned public announcement seemed to garner as much media coverage in one day last week as her entire 2012 Presidential campaign combined. Is it a new day for honest and open news reporting? Or is the corporate media sending a message to Hillary Clinton and the Democrats?
Breaking the black-out
If the coverage of Dr. Jill Stein’s announcement Thursday is any indication, the Green Party can look forward to some special treatment in 2016 by the corporate press. Why? This author’s hunch is that it’s for the exact same reason unions are increasingly embracing the Green Party lately – the Democratic Party has taken them for granted and they’re showing Hillary Clinton and other Democratic leaders that they have other options, most notably, the Green Party.
It’s indeed strange that America’s corporate media completely ignored Jill Stein’s Presidential campaign four years ago, as well as the Libertarians’ Gary Johnson, the Constitution Party’s Virgil Goode, and the Justice Party’s Rocky Anderson. With even the Presidential debate featuring all four candidates blacked out by the country’s for-profit news industry, it wasn’t until Dr. Stein was arrested for crashing the establishment’s exclusive nationally televised debate that she received any coverage.

Compare that to last week, when the Green Party’s 2012 nominee didn’t even announce her candidacy for President. She simply announced she had done what countless other Republican and Democratic politicians have just done – formed an exploratory committee to look into a possible Presidential run. It was hardly a news event, especially considering it involved an opposition party candidate. But somehow, Stein found herself the darling of the corporate media, at least for one well orchestrated day. Her announcement was televised live by C-SPAN and covered by everyone from Yahoo News to Bloomberg News to ABC News.
Stein announces Exploratory Committee for 2016
The Green Party’s Jill Stein announced last week that she has officially launched a 2016 Presidential exploratory committee to look at a possible second run for US President. The timing was prearranged to coincide with an ABC News interview with Dr. Stein and multiple news reports in the print media. Historically speaking, for an opposition party candidate, it was a brilliantly successful manipulation of the corporate media. In fact, this author is still wondering why the Wall Street media is suddenly giving a Green Party leader, not even a candidate yet, so much love and media attention. We’ll let readers answer that question themselves.
‘At a Press Conference this morning, Dr. Jill Stein told the assembled media, guests, and a live TV audience tuning into C-Span that she is testing the waters and forming an exploratory committee to seek the Green Party nomination for President of the United States,’ the Green Party announcement four days ago began, ‘The declaration came just hours after Dr. Stein’s exclusive interview with ABC News made a splash on the Yahoo News homepage.’
Anyone who’s ever tried to get their news from Yahoo News or Google News knows that neither internet property ever, ever, ever includes news accounts of opposition parties or their candidates. Both news sites employ an iron curtain so exclusive that most of the breaking news stories on both websites are between a week and a month old. That’s how guarded and filtered Google and Yahoo traditionally are. But all that changed last week for Jill Stein and the Green Party.
Capitalizing on national media coverage
The published news report from Yahoo News detailing the Green Party’s Jill Stein and her announcement last week starts where the national media left off in 2012. ‘Most voters will likely never know her name, let alone cast a vote for her at the ballot box,’ the article begins, ‘but that’s not deterring Dr. Jill Stein from running for president in 2016.’ If most voters will never know her name, it’s only due to the media’s own black-out, as there were only six candidates for US President with a mathematical chance of winning four years ago. In fact, nearly every single American voter saw her name on their ballot in 2012.
When asked why she would probably run for President again in 2016, Stein replied, “There are rules that make it possible for the very rich to buy politicians. That’s what’s going on. There’s a horse race around grabbing the money right now. And I think it speaks volumes about what a really sorry state our political system has come to.” She went on to call the current parade of potential Republican and Democrat 2016 Presidential opponents as, “corrupt and sold out.”
The Green Party’s 2012 Presidential nominee was also asked about the incident that earned her coverage for a brief moment during that campaign – her criminal arrest for crashing the nationally televised, Wall Street sponsored, Presidential debate that only included the two establishment parties’ candidates. Even though they appeared on the ballot across a majority of the country, Stein, Johnson, Goode and Anderson were universally excluded from media coverage as well as the debates.
“For trying to get into that debate, I was actually arrested, taken to a dark site where no one knew where I was – the site was secret – and held handcuffed to metal chairs for approximately eight hours,” Stein recalled for ABC News, “It speaks volumes about how terrified the political system is that the voices of principled opposition may actually get heard.”
Jill Stein 2016
Showing just how serious Jill Stein is about running for President in 2016, she already has a campaign website up and running at Jill2016.com. There, supporters can find the ABC News interview telecast, the Yahoo News article and a transcript of Dr. Stein’s exploratory announcement in Washington DC February 6th.
In her announcement, televised live on C-SPAN from the National Press Club in Washington DC, Jill Stein began her speech saying, “A movement for democracy and justice is sweeping the planet. People are rising up, calling for an America and a world that works for all of us. We’re told we are in a recovery, when in fact we are in an emergency. And the political parties that got us into this mess are utterly incapable of getting us out.”
Dr. Stein pulled no punches and showed why she’s popular across all segments of the country’s political opposition. She passionately remarked, “We’ve had enough of rule by the economic elite, with their cult of cut-throat competition and their religion of greed. We’ve had enough of corporate capitalism that puts profits ahead of people, planet and peace. These deranged values have dominated media, politics and the economy for decades.”

So what’s with the unprecedented media coverage of a Green Party leader who isn’t even a candidate yet? Strangely enough, we at Whiteout Press believe it has everything to do with Barack Obama. The Wall Street media all but rigged the nation’s airwaves to elect him in 2008. How did he repay the favor? By having the least transparent White House in history, putting their fellow journalists in prison, banning all but one or two hand-picked reporters to cover Presidential events and being an all around enemy of America’s free press.
We think the coverage Jill Stein and the Green Party received one week ago was nothing more than a thinly veiled warning to Hilary Clinton, that they’re going to help her like they helped Barack Obama, but she better not shut the Wall Street media out of the luxury and spoils of being the ruling elite like he did. Their warning to Hillary was, look what we just did for the Green Party and Jill Stein. Imagine what would happen if Dr. Stein received Hillary and Obama-style coverage every day. Jill Stein would garner 20% of the vote, all from Hillary, and America would have a Republican President in 2016.
