German press working for CIA

When the former Editor of Germany’s Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung wrote and published his book recently called ‘Bought Journalists’, the author Udo Ulfkotte confessed that some of his published articles were actually written by the CIA. The former editor spoke to RT News and told how he was forced to write for not only the CIA, but also for Germany’s foreign intelligence service. “I ended up publishing articles under my own name written by agents of the CIA and other intelligence services, especially the German secret service,” he told two Russian news outlets.

Udo Ulfkotte went on to confess to RT, “It is not right what I have done in the past – to manipulate people, to make propaganda. And it is not right what my colleagues do and have done in the past because they are bribed to betray people not only in Germany, but all over Europe. I was a journalist for twenty-five years and I was educated to lie, to betray, and not to tell the truth to the public.”

The former editor of the large German news publication exposed how Europe and America’s news industries actually work. “I was bribed by the Americans not to report exactly the truth,” he admits, “I was invited by the German Marshall Fund of the United States to travel to the US. They paid for all my expenses and put me in contact with Americans they’d like me to meet. I became an honorary citizen of the state of Oklahoma in the US just because I wrote pro-American. I was supported by the CIA. I have helped them in several situations and I feel ashamed for that too.”

CIA and the Los Angeles Times

As detailed last month in the Whiteout Press article ‘AP Reporter caught working for CIA’, a prominent Los Angeles Times foreign affairs reporter named Ken Dilanian was exposed for having a working relationship with the CIA. The reporter towed the government line telling readers how successful the US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were. And he routinely sent drafts of his news reports to his handlers at the CIA for their input, revisions and approval prior to publishing.

The leaked emails between the LA Times reporter and the CIA are from 2012. Dilanian insists that is the only period he secretly worked for the global spy agency and he doesn’t have any remorse.  He claims he only ran the stories past his CIA handlers for approval to insure the paper was only publishing accurate, government-approved facts. But The Intercept looked at some of the stories in question and found that one of the LA Times articles approved by the CIA and written by Ken Dilanian lied about the number of casualties from a US drone strike as well as the attack’s success.

In response to the revelation, the Tribune Company’s Washington bureau chief, David Lauter said, “We have a very clear rule that has been in place for quite a few years that tells reporters not to share copies of stories outside the newsroom. I am disappointed that the emails indicate that Ken may have violated that rule.”

Ken Dilanian’s current employer, the Associated Press, had absolutely no problem with its reporter working for the CIA. The AP’s Director of Media Relations, Paul Colford said, “We were satisfied that any pre-publication exchanges that Ken had with the CIA before joining AP were in pursuit of accuracy in his reporting on intelligence matters.”

CIA and news media trafficking drugs

As crazy as it sounds, the 25-year conspiracy theory seems more true each year – the CIA is trafficking drugs into the US from South America and the American news media is willingly covering it up. That was the conclusion after the San Jose Mercury News blew the lid off of the Agency’s accused program of flying narcotics into California and then selling them to African American kids on the streets of LA. Immediately after the Mercury News’ Gary Webb blew the lid off the story, the LA Times and 17 of its reporters began a savage and brutal attack on his character and his life.

Until now, it’s always been a conspiracy theory. But thanks to additional documents just released by the CIA and published by The Intercept, the Agency confirms the CIA worked with its agents inside the LA Times. Hours after the Mercury News published the story, the CIA went into official damage control mode, calling the accusing article, “a genuine public relations crisis.” The documents show the CIA called upon, “a ground base of already productive relations with journalists” to destroy reporter Gary Webb’s credibility. They succeeded. Webb committed suicide in 2004, or was murdered, depending on who you ask.
